About

Manuel Öhler

Manuel Öhler

S&C Coach

5+ years as a Strength & Conditioning coach — coached over 200 athletes across ice hockey, speed skating, soccer, tennis, alpine ski, mountain bike and ski freestyle. Currently working with ice hockey and speed skaters, the future-athletes group and selected private clients.

My Journey

My journey in sport started with youth ice hockey. I worked my way through the youth ranks and eventually made the step into professional hockey, where I experienced firsthand what it takes to perform at a high level.

But my first years as a professional athlete were not always easy. I was repeatedly affected by injuries and had to fight my way back several times. Those experiences changed the way I looked at my own body. I became more interested in understanding how my body works, how I could prepare it better, and what it takes to stay healthy and perform at a high level over the long term.

That was when I realized that I didn’t just want to become a better hockey player — I wanted to become a better athlete.

During my professional career, I therefore started my Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science while continuously pursuing additional education in strength & conditioning, performance and training. I wanted to understand why things work — and, most importantly, how to apply that knowledge in practice.

Today, I combine my own experience as a professional athlete with scientific knowledge and practical experience. My goal is to pass on what I have learned throughout my own journey and help other athletes develop faster, stay healthy and reach their full potential.

My approach is built around the belief that health always comes first, because an athlete can only perform consistently when the body is ready to perform. Whether in team sports or individual sports, an athlete who is not healthy cannot perform at their best. That is why my approach is not about getting the most out of an athlete in the shortest possible time, but about building athletes who are stronger, more resilient and capable of performing at a high level over the long term.

The standard

Two words have always stood out to me:

Effort & Attitude.

Every training session. Every rep. Every day.

Give 100%. Take responsibility. Show up with the right mindset and the right attitude.

Talent can take you far — but hard work, consistency and the willingness to improve every single day are what make the difference.

Hard work beats talent.

The science behind strength

Stronger. More resilient.

Strength training reduced sports injuries to less than one third of comparison-group risk in the 2014 meta-analysis.

−69%

Relative reduction in sports injuries

Strength-training subgroup · Lauersen et al., 2014. Exact estimate: 68.5% lower relative risk.

Overuse injuries: almost halved. 47.3% lower relative risk across exercise-based prevention programmes—not the strength-only subgroup.

Study context & sources

2014: The full review included 25 trials, 26,610 participants and 3,464 injuries across different exercise interventions; these totals are not all strength-training trials. Stretching alone did not show a significant preventive effect.

2018: The strength-focused review included 6 studies and 7,738 participants; pooled RR 0.338 (95% CI 0.238–0.480). The dose–response finding comes from a separate post-hoc meta-regression, not from the chart above. Group-level study results are not individual medical advice.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Short and direct — everything you need to know before you buy a program or start coaching.

Show all questions8

Who are the programs for?

Athletes, semi-pros and ambitious recreational athletes from any sport. The programs build strength, speed, robustness and mobility — qualities that matter in every discipline. Basic gym and lifting experience is assumed.

How do I get my program after purchase?

The ready-made plans are sold through FitPro — you buy them via my FitPro plan link and the plan then opens directly in your FitPro app, no download or extra account needed. The link goes live here as soon as the plans are finished.

What's the difference between the 9- and 12-week off-season program?

Both follow the same 3-phase structure (Foundation → Strength → Power/Speed). The 9-week version is the compact route when your prep window is short. The 12-week version adds a week of volume and progression per phase — more result, if you have the time.

I have an injury history — can I still start?

For current injuries or complex return-to-sport situations I recommend individual 1:1 coaching instead of a ready-made plan. For old, fully healed issues the Foundation Package or the Joint Stabilizers program is a solid starting point.

Can I ask questions while running the program?

The ready-made programs are self-service. For ongoing support, weekly adjustments and direct chat access, go with 1:1 custom coaching — book a free 15-min call and we'll see if it's a fit.

What equipment do I need?

Access to a normally equipped gym: barbell, dumbbells, squat rack, plyo box, cable machine. The speed and mobility programs need considerably less.

What is the refund policy?

Because you get instant digital access after purchase, sales are generally final. If something doesn't work technically or the program isn't delivered, send me an email — we'll sort it out.

How does 1:1 coaching work and what does it cost?

1:1 coaching is fully individual support with a weekly call, chat support and continuous program adjustments. What it costs depends on scope, goal and duration — book a free 15-min call, tell me where you are, and I'll tell you straight what it would look like for you.
